Desire is not a bad attribute to have, it is actually quite a good thing according to Scripture unless you are lazy or a man of appetites. There is a difference between desire and coveting. Desire is to wish or long for something. Let’s say you wanted to be married, this is not bad, but if you wish to be married to your neighbor’s wife, this is bad. For this would be coveting your neighbor’s wife and this is breaking the tenth commandment. As you can see throughout this study the righteous will have their desires granted, but the lazy man and the wicked man will not. To desire wisdom is a great attribute and God will grant this to you if you desire it above all else. If a man isolates himself, he obviously seeks his own desire and I am sure you know a few people like this. I know that I do. This one if for the ladies, in Proverbs 19:22 it says, that what is desired in a man is kindness. Now as I have gotten older, I can tell you from a man’s point of view, this is exactly what I look for in a woman also. Not if she is only kind to me, but to everyone else also. This is very attractive in a spouse, to be kind. Well, I hope that you enjoy this study and I hope that the LORD blesses you and gives you the desires of your heart!!!!!
