Charles Finney (Politics)

The time has come that Christians must vote for honest men and take consistent ground in politics or the Lord will curse them. . . . Christians have been exceedingly guilty in this matter. But the time has come when they must act differently. . . . Christians seem to act as if they thought God did not see what they do in politics. But I tell you He does see it – and He will bless or curse this nation according to the course the Christians take in politics.

A.W. Tozer (Patience)

If He put tribulation before you and said He will give you patience by giving you a little trouble along the way, wouldn’t you take a little trouble? You say, ‘Lord, I want all my highways paved.’ the Lord says, ‘I’m sorry, I can’t accommodate you. I’m going to let you run over some bumps occasionally, so you will have patience.’ You do not like the bumps, but you like the patience, and if you want the patience, you will have to take the bumps. And what is patience but experience?

A.W. Tozer (Holy Man)

A holy man isn’t aware that he’s holy..As soon as we begin to talk about how holy we are, we aren’t holy any more.

A.W. Tozer (Pastor, Preacher)

If a man is speaking about how holy he is, this man is deceiving himself, he has become prideful and is sinning at that moment. According to the Word of God (The Holy Bible) if a man says he has no sin, he is a liar and we are to have nothing to do with him. Holiness is the work of the Holy Spirit in someone’s life and as time goes on you become holier and holier, but I agree with A.W. Tozer, I do not think that a holy man or woman truly view themselves as holy, for they know what kind of a sinner they were or they recognize the battle for their soul still and truly understand that they are where they are at only by the grace of God.

A.W. Tozer (Perfect)

God sees us perfect in His Son while He disciplines and chastens and purges us that we may be partakers of His holiness.

A.W. Tozer (Pastor, Preacher)

God sees what we are going to be, not for what we are at this moment, He will continue His perfect will in our lives as we surrender and submit to His authority in our lives, so that He can continue His perfect will for our lives and make us Holy as He is Holy.

A.W. Tozer (God Wants Us)

God wants us to worship Him. He doesn’t need us, for He couldn’t be a self-sufficient God and need anything or anybody, but He wants us. When Adam sinned it was not He who cried, “God, where art Thou?” It was God who cried, “Adam, where art thou?”

A.W. Tozer (Pastor, Preacher)

Think about this one, “God wants us”, what a thought! He even wanted a relationship with Adam after he sinned. God was seeking Adam, and Adam was hiding from God. It is not like God did not know where Adam was at, it was that God wanted Adam to acknowledge what he had done and repent of his sin. This is exactly what God wants each and everyone of us to do, repent and get right with Him. He desires a relationship with us.

A.W. Tozer (Daily Conduct)

Jesus Christ left us an example for our daily conduct. He felt no bitter resentment and He held no grudge against anyone! Even those who crucified Him were forgiven while they were in the act. Not a word did He utter against them nor against the ones who stirred them up to destroy Him. How evil they all were. He knew better than any other man, but He maintained a charitable attitude toward them.

A.W. Tozer (Gun Barrel)

You can be straight as a gun barrel theologically, and as empty as one spiritually.

A.W. Tozer (Pastor, Preacher)

This is the difference between religious people and people that have been born again and are full of the Holy Spirit. The religious person can know all sorts of correct doctrines and teachings, but be dead spiritually. For they do not have a personal relationship with the LORD. Where I have seen people who do not know all of the teachings in the Word of God (The Holy Bible) yet are full of the Holy Spirit and are alive spiritually doing the work of the LORD, loving on people.

A.W. Tozer (Inquisitive)

I think that most Christians would be better pleased if the Lord did not inquire into their personal affairs too closely. They want Him to save them, to keep them happy, and to take them off to heaven at last, but not to be too inquisitive about their conduct or services.

A.W. Tozer (Pastor, Preacher)

I have found this statement to be very true. Most Christians want Jesus as their Savior, but not their Lord. For they want to go to heaven, but they do not want to do what their Lord has instructed them to do. They want to have the blessings without the obedience and as a Christian, I can tell you that this does not happen. God wants your obedience more than your sacrifice according to Micah 6:8, so next time you feel like you are not getting blessed the way that you think you should, you might want to seek real repentance and ask the Lord to speak to you about what He wants from you. I am sure He will speak to you about what needs to change in your life.
