Richard Baxter (Perfection)

This life was not intended to be the place of our perfection, but the preparation for it.

Richard Baxter (Puritan Pastor, 1615 – 1691)

The Word of God (The Holy Bible) says that we are not going to be perfect until we are in the very presence of Jesus. That while we are here on this earth that perfection is not obtainable. That we are sinners until the day of our death. But the Bible also says that we should be holy as God is holy. So we should always be trying to be the best version of who the LORD made us to be. Have a blessed day!!!

Richard Baxter (Holiness)

Holiness is nothing else but the habitual and predominant devotion and dedication of soul, and body, and life, and all that we have to God; and esteeming, and loving, and serving, and seeking Him, before all the pleasures and prosperity of the flesh.

Richard Baxter (Puritan Pastor, 1615 – 1691)

Richard Baxter (Time)

Spend your time in nothing which you know must be repented of; in nothing on which you might not pray for the blessing of God; in nothing which you could not review with a quiet conscience on your dying bed; in nothing which you might not safely and properly be found doing if death should surprise you in the act.

Richard Baxter (Puritan Pastor, 1615 – 1691)

F. B. Meyer (Engaged)

How many of us, who are engaged in the Lord’s holy service, are secretly cherishing some proud purpose of excelling other men, of making a name, of securing money and applause.

F. B. Meyer (Pastor/Evangelist, 1847 – 1929)

F. B. Meyer (Bible)

When the Bible itself becomes irksome, inquire whether you have not been spoiling your appetite by sweetmeats and renounce them; and believe that the Word is the wire along which the voice of God will certainly come to you if the heart is hushed and the attention fixed.

F. B. Meyer (Pastor/Evangelist, 1847 – 1929)

F. B. Meyer (Jehovah)

Our God is Jehovah of hosts, who can summon unexpected reinforcements at any moment to aid His people. Believe that He is there between you and your difficulty, and what baffles you will flee before Him, as clouds before the gale.

F. B. Meyer (Pastor/Evangelist, 1847 – 1929)

F. B. Meyer (Richest)

He is the richest man in the esteem of the world who has gotten the most. He is the richest man in the esteem of Heaven who has given the most.

F. B. Meyer (Pastor/Evangelist, 1847 – 1929)

F. B. Meyer (Indifferences)

I believe that if there is one thing which pierces the Master’s heart with unutterable grief, it is not the world’s iniquity, but the Church’s indifferences.

F. B. Meyer (Pastor/Evangelist, 1847 – 1929)
