“Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence upon Thee, and we beg Thy blessings upon us, our parents, our teachers, and our Country.”
This is the prayer that was stated in the case of Engel v. Vitale, that got the 1962 Supreme Court to decide that it was unconstitutional to allow prayer in schools. That same year the court decided to find out how many people believed in religion or God and in the case of Abington v. Schempp, they found out that only 3% of the people did not believe in religion or God, that means that 97% of the people did. The courts letting the minority lead the majority, sound familiar?
