John D. Rockefeller (Money)

God gave me my money. I believe the power to make money is a gift from God. To be developed and used to the best of our ability for the good of mankind. Having been endowed with the gift I possess, I believe it is my duty to make money and still more money and to use the money I make for the good of my fellow man according to the dictates of my conscience.

John D. Rockefeller (Sunday School)

This Sunday School has been of help to me, greater perhaps than any other force in my Christian life, and I can ask no better things for you than that you, and all that shall come after you in this great band of workers for Christ, shall receive the same measure of blessedness which I have been permitted to have.

“Strength”

In studying about “Strength” in the Bible I did not believe that it would be such a large subject. I did know that the Word of God (The Holy Bible) had some things to say about it, but I did not expect it to such a diverse subject. In the Old Testament alone, there are 29 different words that are translated into the word “Strength” and as you will see when you get further into this study, that a lot of them have signifigant differences. Sometimes these words are translated “might”, “power”, or “strength”, depending upon which translation of the Bible you get. There are some verse references next to each definition so you can see how they were translated for yourself. In the New Testament there are another 8 different words also translated into the word “Strength”.

In Scripture we see that the LORD is where all strength comes from and we are told to seek the LORD’s strength, we are also told to bring the LORD strength. I believe we bring the LORD strength when we keep our hands clean and as the Word of God says, we become stronger and stronger (Job 17:9). Now throughout Scripture we see that the LORD gives strength in different forms, He gives it to nature, as in the wind, the rain, the snow, the sea, etc. We see that He gives strength in a physical sense, such as healing bones in the crippled man’s ankles and feet, giving Sarah strength to conceive at a late age in life. That the LORD weakens the strength of the wicked. He gives strength to the powerless. Our God is amazing and he proves it every day.

In a spiritual sense we see that there are some things that the LORD tells us will weaken us, such as in Psalm 31:10 that our iniquities (Sin) make us weak. But the LORD also tells us how to gain strength, in Job 17:9 He tells us to keep clean hands (Do not touch the evil things) and we will become stronger and stronger. We know that God gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength (Isaiah 40:29). In (Isaiah 40:31) But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Now Paul the apostle asked three times to have an infirmity removed from his life and this is how the LORD answered Paul (2 Corinthians 12:9) And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. So we can conclude that even when we are feeling at our weakest that the Power of God is made perfect in our weakness.

I would like to share a little story about what has happened in my life in the last year and a half, the reason that I am telling this story is because my brother who was one of the strongest people that I know in a physical sense was in a horrific motorcycle accident and now lays in a hospital bed with a traumatic brain injury. He has been super inspiring even during this most difficult time of his life. I have seen the hand of God on this man, thee entire time that he has been injured. He has went thru more problems than anyone that I have ever seen and continues to survive. He was in ICU three times within a two month period, was getting horrific medical care at the facility that he was at and I even had a doctors assistant call me and tell me that hospice had to be involved, for the doctor said that my brother did not have much time to live. But to God’s supernatural care, he continues to live on and healthier than he has been in over a year. He has been closer to the door of death than anyone that I have ever met. So to those of you out there that are in need of strength, just continue to pray for it and ask the LORD to provide it. May God Bless You and Your loved ones and may He continue to give you all the strength that you need!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the conclusion of the studies that have to do with the verse (Mark 12:30) ‘And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.‘ This is the first commandment. (NKJV) I suggest if you have not read the other studies on the heart, the soul, and the mind, to do so, for they were all put together off of this verse.
